BAXTER - Eugene A. "Bud" Horigan, age 79, of Baxter, died at his home Friday, Nov. 26, 2010. He was born in Luverne, Minn., Jan. 20, 1931, to Lyle F. and Frances (Kohn) Horrigan. He married Mildred Gave in Las Vegas on March 27, 1961. Bud served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was employed as a truck driver for the Brainerd School District for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; sisters, Phyllis Murphy, Theresa (David) Potter and Kaye Nelson, all of Baxter, and Mary Schneekloth, of Luverne, Minn.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lyle Horrigan Jr., Joseph Horrigan; and sister, Janet Dawson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Burial will be in MN State Veterans Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post No. 255. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with parish prayers 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
Visitation will continue at the church Thursday the hour before the service.
