ISLE - Richard F. "Dick" Henrickson, age 74, of Isle, died on Nov. 24, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born in Crosby on July 21, 1934, to Eiler C. and Mabel (Baker) Henrickson. He married Janice Buckingham on Feb. 21, 2009, in Malmo, Minn.
Dick was a retired Command Sergeant Major with the U.S. Army Special Forces with 33 years of service, spanning within the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was a member of the Gideon International; board member of Wealthwood Rod and Gun Club; Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557, Deerwood; Isle VFW Post No. 2816; Special Forces Decade Association; Air Borne Regimental Combat Teams Association, Rakkasans 187th RCT; Sergeant Major Association; Bethesda Lutheran Church, Malmo; and a former member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, N.C., and Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood.
Survivors include his wife Janice; two sons, Richard Henrickson Jr., Northfield, Minn., Reginald Henrickson of Dillingham, Alaska; two daughters, Ginny (Terry) Murphy of Fayetteville, N.C., Susan Bleja of Milaca, Minn.; one brother, Everett (Lina) Henrickson of Graceville, Fla.; two sisters, Ramona Mohs of St. Cloud, Minn., and Marion (Allen) Fox of Twin Bridges, Mont.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; three brothers, Eiler, Phillip and Norman Henrickson; and two sisters, Lorraine Lundgren and Mabel Spengler.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, at Salem Lutheran Church, Deerwood. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services.
