Memorial services for Mabel "Midge" Edna (Madland) Nelson, 88, of Brainerd, Minn., will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, Minn. Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. at the church and lunch will be served following the memorial service.
Midge passed away peacefully on Nov. 20 at her home on North Long Lake with her husband and four daughters by her side. The Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Quilters Club.
Midge was born on May 2, 1922, in Winchester, Wis., the daughter of Hjalmar and Caroline Madland. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dr. George Robert Nelson of Brainerd, Minn.; four daughters, Laurie Dahl and her husband Terry of Madison Lake, Minn., Kathy Delaney of Baxter, Minn., Heidi Stromback and her husband Dale of Blaine, Minn., and Becky Feldmeier and her husband Chris of Potomac Falls, Va.; seven grandchildren, Brian, Craig, Lucas, Carlina, Spencer, Hannah and Zachary; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Claude and Anita Nelson, Richard and Iris Nelson, Dean Fritze; and many nieces and nephews.
Midge will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her and called her friend.
