Roberta Mae Cecil
Roberta Mae Cecil, 78, of Drayton, N,D., died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Aitkin. She was born May 4, 1934. She served in the U.S. Air Force where she met and married Ray Simenstad and had her four children. Later, she married Jim Cecil until his death in 1999. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Cecil, brother David Olsen, father Robert Fischer, and her parents Einar and Charlotte Olsen.
Roberta is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: R. Scott (Nancy) Simenstad of Aitkin, Minn.; three daughters and sons-in-law: Maria (Doug) Petersen of Drayton, N.D., Elizabeth (Ken) Linster of Drayton, N.D., and Sherry (John) Tostrup of Viking, Minn.; one brother and sister-in-law: Lance (Ann) Fischer of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister Linda Wendt of Eden Prairie, Minn.; 19 grandchildren: Vincent, Dawn, Shonna, Justin, Jonathon, Jennifer, Cora, Gina, Lacey, Tori, Brianna, Caylea, Carlea, Makynlea, Jacob, Jentery, Selena, Brooklynne, Zane; two great-great-grandchildren Alayna and Lilly; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
