STAPLES — LaVerne Hagenson, age 79 of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System on Thursday, May 24, 2012. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 28, from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Philbrook.
LaVerne was born on Sept. 6, 1932, in Todd County to Frank and Evelyn (Smith) Macho. LaVerne married Dick Hagenson on Sept. 23, 1958. LaVerne is survived by four daughters: Linda (Wayne) Thompson of Byron, Minn., Machel (Alan) Marshall of Motley, Terry (Bill) Dobson of Staples and Joanne (Jerry) Carpenter of Staples; a sister: Jeanette Nelson of Brainerd; a sister-in law: Donna Kastanek of Brainerd, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, parents, brothers Dale and Leroy and sister Darlene.
