LeeRoy Allen Beto
FORT RIPLEY — LeeRoy Allen Beto, age 63, of Fort Ripley, died at home of natural causes on May 17, 2012. LeeRoy was born April 22, 1949, in Little Falls, Minn., to Charles and Eva (Olson) Beto. He married Mabel Starr on Nov. 14, 1982, in Randall, Minn., and they had five children.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always working on some type of project, whether it was a vehicle or that darned lawn mower deck! His job was boring. He was a good storyteller and he loved any kind of joke. He always had a joke to tell – he never ran out of them. He enjoyed playing guitar and he never could sit through an entire movie.
LeeRoy is survived by his wife, Mabel; children Lisa (Mike) Hukriede of Cold Spring, Minn., Shannon (Dan) Stans of Long Prairie, Minn., Alisha (Lee) Cates of Killeen, Texas, Trista (Glen) Barker of Pequot Lakes, Minn., and Rebecca Beto of Rootstown, Ohio; grandchildren Brittany, Annabel, Austin, Thoren and Alex Hukriede, Kimberly, Brian and George Stans, Dawson and Aiden Cates, Jasmine and Heather Barker and Kassidy, Robert and Dean Wilson; sisters Jeanette Schroeder and Sharon Kramer; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eva Beto; sisters Betty Taylor, Irene Bermel, Beverly Kurowski and Kathleen Schlumpberger; and brothers, Kenneth and Donald Beto.
Time of Remembrance will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home with visitation from 4-7 p.m.
