Funeral services will be on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Staples United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Bateson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

AITKIN — Daniel E. Quast, 65, of Aitkin, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his residence. He was born Dec. 25, 1947, in Chaska to Melvin and Lucille (Lambrecht) Quast. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Daniel was united in marriage to Diane M. (Dockendorf) March 4, 1984. They lived in Elk River prior to moving to Aitkin in 1991. They owned Quast Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Seth C. Garrett was born in Amhurst, S.D., on Feb. 22, 1925, to Alice and Reggie Garrett. He attended school in Claremont, S.D. He only attended until the eighth grade; he said he didn’t care for school because the kids in his class just wanted to goof off. In 1942, Seth enlisted in the Army and served until he received a medical discharge in 1944.

CROSSLAKE — Virginia “Ginny” Steuber, 97, of Crosslake, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Golden Horizons in Crosslake, Minn. Services for Ginny will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, Minn. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 3:30 p.m.

Patricia “Patti” Burchill, 53, of Brainerd, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Private family services will be held.

Patti was born, raised and spent her entire life in Brainerd. She graduated from Brainerd High School and began working for the PACE Program at Brainerd State Hospital. She then continued her education at Brainerd Vocational Technical School and completed the Medical Secretary Program. Patti worked at Brainerd Medical Center for 23 years as a medical transcriptionist.

Nadine M. Schmillen, age 76, of the Pequot Lakes area, died on May 6, 2013, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at The Lutheran Home Chapel, 611 W. Main, in Belle Plaine, Minn. The Rev. Ed Fredrich will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Thursday.

NISSWA — Marjorie E. Enger, 92-year-old resident of Senior Class Care, Nisswa, Minn., passed away on May 6, 2013. She was born March 1, 1921, in New Rockford, N.D., to Oscar and Vera (McGoon) Danielson. She graduated from Minot High School and attended Minot State College. Marjorie was married to William S. Enger, who worked for the Great Northern and later the Burlington Northern Railways as a Yardmaster. While living in Minot, Marjorie worked for the First National Bank as a bookkeeper and also at Ann’s Fashions for several years.
