MOTLEY — Mary J. (DeGeest) Beers, age 92, Motley, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Care center on Saturday, Feb. 12. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Motley United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.

OWATONNA — Frances Helene Johnson was born to eternal life on Feb. 10, 2011, at the age of 77 years.

Fran was the loving mother of Kristine (Scot) Ruffatto of Waukesha, Wis., Annette (Kent) Goble of Cloquet, Minn., and Robert (Gretchen) Johnson of Owatonna, Minn.

Herbert A. Torgerson, age 81, of Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of Bemidji, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Brainerd. Herb was born in 1930 to Walter and Alice (Heath) Torgerson in Motley, Minn., and grew up in Brainerd. In his youth, his passion was boxing and he was proud to be a part of the Golden Glove Boxing Organization. Herb enjoyed all sports, including the MN Twins, MN Vikings and following Bemidji High School sports. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his family in Solway.
