STAPLES — Lawrence Sauer, age 88, of Staples, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with interment in Rice, Minn. Wake services will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel with Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 6:45 p.m.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS — Mildred M. Wilhelmson, age 96, formerly of Staples, passed away early Saturday morning at Lighthouse of Columbia Heights Assisted Living in Columbia Heights, Minn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with interment in Evergreen Hill Cemetery. Friends and family will gather for visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.

Phillip was born in Pierz, Minn., on May 27, 1928, to Paul and Julia (Zulawski) Dambowy. He worked as a sheep farmer.

Clara Victoria Mueffelman, (Nee Carlson), age 93, formerly of NE Minneapolis, Crosslake and Fridley, passed away on May 1, 2011. Preceded in death by husband, Earl; and son, Dennis Scott Olsen. Survived by daughter, Barbara Hamer, of Fridley; son, Terry (Karen) Olsen, of Duluth; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two nieces and their families. No services at Clara’s request. Private interment in Crosslake at a later date. Cremation Society of MN, Minneapolis.

Jackie J. Middleton (Schmith) of North Oaks (St. Paul), Minn., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 12, 2011, at the age of 59. Our sweet Jackie lost her battle with cancer after seven brave years of fighting. Jackie will forever be in our memories as a warm and loving wife, mother, sister, grandma and friend.
