FIFTY LAKES — Ronald A. Eide, 73, of Fifty Lakes, Minn., died Friday, July 1, 2011, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

PALISADE — Howard A. Franzen, 92, of Palisade, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Golden Horizon in Aitkin. He was born June 24, 1919, in Palisade to Axel and Anna (Turnrose) Franzen. He grew up and attended school in Palisade. Howard was united in marriage to Delores Keath on Nov. 2, 1943, in El Paso, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II. He was employed as a truck driver for Herbison Bridge Construction Company. He was a charter member of the Palisade Lions.

JoAnn Robertson, of Brainerd, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Arrangements are pending.

STAPLES — Mildred Klos, age 89, of Staples, Minn., died at the Lakewood Health System Care Center on June 29, 2011. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
