WAITE PARK — Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waite Park, for Raymond J. Geislinger, age 94, of Waite Park, who passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery, Waite Park.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and after noon on Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

PEQUOT LAKES — Maureen “Meg” Erkenbrack Bye, age 69, of Pequot Lakes, passed away May 30, 2012. She was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Oceanside, Calif., to Patricia Moran and James Compton. Meg graduated from JFK High School in Babbitt, Minn., and the College of St. Scholastica, magna cum laude in mathematics, plus additional Master’s degree studies in Organizational Development. Meg married Don Bye on Oct. 2, 1969, on a duck-hunting trip to the Dakotas, their version of a “shotgun wedding.”

PEQUOT LAKES — Lois Schultze, age 88, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd. She was born to Nelson and Eunice Boham in Corning, Iowa, on Sept. 7, 1923.
Lois is survived by her brother, Arthur Boham (Marlys); sister, Pauline Neal (Woodrow); many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Earl.

TOMAH, Wis. — Gregory G. O’Neil, 51, of Tomah, Wis., died at his home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born on June 19, 1960, to George and Donna Mae (Dahl) O’Neil in Minneapolis. He was a member of the Roosevelt High School graduating class of 1979. On April 9, 1994, Greg was united in marriage to Amanda Griffin at the Brainerd Church of Christ. Greg grew up in Minneapolis near Lake Nokomis. He attended truck driving school in Sun Prairie and has been on the road driving semi ever since. He was known to his fellow drivers as “Bojangles.” Greg currently was employed with River City Ready Mix.

PINE RIVER — James Hummel, age 80, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Pine River. He was born in Hague, N.D., to Henry and Gladys Hummel on June 13, 1931. James married Edith Hanus in Minneapolis on May 19, 1956. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. James was an economic developer, was self-employed and an entrepreneur for many years. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Colombus.

LEADER — Emma Miller, age 88, of Leader, passed away at the Lakewood Care Center, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A funeral service is planned for Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at the Motley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Swan Valley Cemetery in Leader.

PILLAGER — Marvin J. Hoopman, 63, of Pillager, died on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home. A memorial service for Marvin will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Barb Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m.
Marvin was born on May 17, 1949, in Deer River, Minn., to Marvin and Molly (Doty) Hoopman Sr. He graduated from Deer River High School. Marvin married Terrie (Slayton) on June 17, 1992. Marvin worked for over 20 years in lawn maintenance. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

AITKIN — Eleanor E. Weitnauer, born Aug. 23, 1918, died May 28, 2012, at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. A very kind and gentle Christian woman died today and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services at the Westside Church in Aitkin. Burial will be at a later date in the Opstead Cemetery near Isle. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.

DULUTH — Alice Martha Peterson, 80, formerly of Isle, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Alice was born on April 24, 1932, in Redtop, Minn., to William and Martha (Schulke) Moss.
Alice married Glenn Myron Peterson, on May 26, 1951. Glenn and Alice owned Peterson Bros. Blacktop in Isle and Peterson’s Marina on Mille Lacs Lake. Alice enjoyed working in her gardens and growing a variety of flowers.
