PINE RIVER - Lillian Emma Hohlen (Zwack), age 82, of Pine River, formerly of Longville and Elk River, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Hubbard, Saskatchewan. She has resided at Norway Brook Apartments in Pine River since Dec. 1, 1994.

Herbert Lee Owens, age 75, of Baxter, formerly of Minneapolis, died Sept. 4, 2008, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River. A celebration of Herb's life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at the Lakes Area Senior Center in Brainerd. Light refreshments will be served.

George Nau, age 88, of Woodland Good Samaritan Home, and formerly of Wadena, passed away on Sept. 5, 2008. The funeral Mass will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.

McGREGOR - Marcia Jean Taylor, WAH-BISH-KI-GWA-NABE, 55, of McGregor, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at the Riverwood Health Care Center, Aitkin.

LITTLE FALLS - Louis P. Kedrowski, 81-year-old resident of Little Falls, formerly of Fridley, Minn., passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, in Little Falls.

Vesta D. Murrow, 99, of Brainerd, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, Minn. Graveside services for Vesta are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the Baxter City Cemetery.

Calvin Scheurer, age 68, resident of Almond House in Brainerd, died there Saturday, September 6, 2008.
