Firefighters respond to barn fire

Brainerd Dispatch/Jennifer Stockinger The Brainerd Fire Department Friday responded to a barn fire on the 12000 block of Oak Ridge Road in Brainerd. There were no injuries, but a cat lost its life.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a pole barn fire at 5:07 p.m. Friday at a home owned by Mike Eggleston at 12632 Oak Ridge Road in Brainerd.

Brainerd Fire Chief Kevin Stunek said there were no injuries, but a cat lost its life.

Stunek said the fire appeared to have started from a heat lamp in the corner of the barn. There was about $3,000 in damages.

About 10 firefighters were at the scene

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and North Ambulance assisted at the scene.
