Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Brainerd American Legion Post membership meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Legion.

A walleye dinner by Dewayne Collins will be served from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday at the Legion. Cost is $13 ($12 with a dinner pre-sale ticket purchased by Wednesday).

 

Nisswa Garden Club

The Nisswa Garden Club will meet July 28 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross Chapel Hall with registration at noon. Hosts Kari and Greg Carlson will be having a deluxe picnic lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Cost is $5. During lunch, a survey about the garden show will be distributed. From 1-1:25 p.m. collect your exhibits from the garden show. From 1:30-2 p.m. the exhibit rooms can be dismantled. All members are asked to help with clean-up. Deadline set for C-I class of 1991 reunion

The deadline to sign-up for the Crosby-Ironton High School class of 1991 reunion dinner/dance is July 27.

The reunion dinner and dance will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Cuyuna Country Club.

Cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple. Checks can be made out to the C-I Class of 1991 and should be mailed to Mike Domin, 26436 CR 31, Aitkin, MN 56431.

Disabled American Veterans

The monthly meeting for DAV Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd VFW Club. Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

 

Encore Arts Association

Encore Arts Association members and special guests are welcome to the Tuesday meeting to be hosted by Gail Walsh at her residence. Bring a potluck food item to share with arrival time at 6 p.m. For questions or directions Gail can be reached at 829-1236.

 

Meet, greet and eat gathering

The Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project is hosting a meet, greet and eat from 5:30-7 p.m. July 28 at the Trailside Park (north end). Hot dogs, chips, beans and beverage will be served. Proceeds will benefit the Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project. There will be kids’ games, bean bag toss, prizes and more. Tax deductible donations are being accepted.

 

Harmony House announces dog show

LITTLE FALLS — Harmony House, a division of Horizon Health, Inc., will be having its second annual dog show at 3 p.m. July 25 at Harmony House (1201 Hilton Road) in Little Falls. Bring your dog to visit with the residents of Harmony House and they will then vote on their favorite dog and prizes will be awarded. Lakes Area Caged Bird Club

The Lakes Area Caged Bird Club meeting will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the Oak Lawn Town Hall located on Highway 18, one mile east of the intersection of Highways 18 and 25. Pet birds will be discussed. For more information, call Char at 764-2625.

 

PEO CJ

Chapter CJ of PEO will have its next meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The program is a BIL Pool Party and Pot Luck. Make your reservations with Cathy Gray.

The Washington High School class of 1954 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grizzly’s in Baxter.

 

VFW upcoming events

The Brainerd VFW breakfast will be 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the VFW. Cost: $6.

The VFW Friday night dinner will be a meat loaf dinner served the Disabled Veterans from 5:30 p.m. until gone Friday at the VFW. Cost: $7.

 

Senior dance

A senior dance will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Eagles with music by Andy and Stu.

 

‘T’ for Teachers planned

LITTLE FALLS — The fifth annual “T” for Teachers will be 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the historic rural school at the Morrison County Fairgrounds. The tea is to honor rural school teachers for their role in providing an excellent education for rural area children. For those who have ever taught in a rural school (including other than Morrison County or Minnesota) plan on attending the tea for dessert and conversation in the old school now restored and dedicated to all of those who taught within a similar setting.

Class of ‘44 to meet

Washington High School Class of 1944 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Northwind Grill in Brainerd.
