Tony Veith scored four TDs, one on a run of 97 yards, as the Washington Junior High Trojans defeated the Wadena freshmen by 36-12. Washington, which has a record of 4-1, finishes its season with a game at Staples.

Plagued by fumbles and an overload of penalties for the first three quarters, the Warriors struck for two fourth period TDs to clinch an 18-0 win over the C-I Rangers. It was Brainerd’s final conference game, leaving it with a 4-1 record and in second place.

Overlooking no possible angle, authorities continued their search for the five machine gun bandits that took $28,000 cash from the 1st National Bank yesterday. Heavily armed men checked cabins and cottages in the area but it appears the robbers got away clean.

The state board of control, in a letter from its chairman, has notified the city that its lockup is in bad condition, unsanitary and unfit for use. Brainerd has been notified that it is unlawful to use it to hold any prisoners. The council has called a special meeting.
