A five-player team representing the Pines at Grand View Lodge shot a 22-under-par 50 to capture 4th place in the national Oldsmobile Scramble at Disney World. Playing were Fred and Carolyn Boos, Tom Kientzle, Steve Stoxen and Kevin Cashman.

(Photo) George Callahan celebrated his 107th birthday today at Bethany Good Samaritan Center. The former truck driver, born in 1876, was honored with cake and balloons at a special party with other residents.

Action by the city council makes it illegal for Brainerd residents to have abandoned ice boxes, chests or lockers from which the locks or catches have not been removed. Many children across the nation have suffocated in such devices while playing in them.

Possibility that the high school may shift the scene of its home football games from the “historic” fill by the NP Railroad shops to the new Bane Park appears a strong possibility. All proceeds of the Brainerd – C-I game on October 27 will be used to improve the park.

A.P. Lindberg, of Brainerd, found a bottle of nitroglycerin on the East Oak Street road near the Oak Lawn school house. He picked it up just before two autos went by, which would have been blown to bits. Lindberg was scared to see what he had picked up.
