Marjorie Nolan has been elected president of the Greater Lakes Assn. of Realtors, and was also named Realtor of the Year by the group. Gary Moser is president elect; Jo Christensen is secretary and Jim Knudsen, past president.

30 years ago (1982)

(Photo) Transporting a 140-foot long, 196,000-pound cylindrical tank from Duluth to North Dakota is no easy job. The $2.1 million tank, one of four to go through Brainerd, is hauled on a 12-axle semi with special swivels to turn corners. State Troopers provide escort.

40 years ago (1972)

60 years ago (1952)

C-I’s victory hungry Rangers had vengeance in their mind on their home field as they ended a Brainerd domination that started in 1946. The Rangers struck early for a 19-0 lead and rolled to a 24-7 triumph. Bill Selisker scored for Brainerd on a 96-yard run.

80 years ago (1932)

Avenging the defeat they suffered last year, Brainerd’s blue and white Warriors crushed Aitkin Friday by a 42-0 score. Clicking smoothly on every play, Brainerd had little difficulty in marching down the field seven times to score.

100 years ago (1912)

The Barrows mine of the Virginia Mining Co., a subsidiary of the M. A. Hanna Co., is today hoisting its first iron ore. The iron is of good quality and comes from the No. 2 Shaft. Capt. C. E. Hendrick visited the mine yesterday and inspected the work.

Nope

The only johnson we had didnt work very good in the winter. I found it hard to mount that outboard on a sled.

We used to

Slide around good on all those peel's!!! Sure hope it is a cold & snowy winter this year.

& it freezes in Mexico!!
