20 years ago (1992)

Brainerd improved to 3-2 overall, and 3-1 in league play, with a 22-0 homecoming victory over Alexandria at a balmy Don Adamson Field. The Warriors accumulated a season-high 283 yards, led by David Severson’s career best 162 yards and 3 TDs.

30 years ago (1982)

The Brainerd Community College football team was practically flawless in a 64-0 annihilation of Hibbing. Raider running backs gained 265 yards, quarterback Dave Webber threw three TD passes and John Zbacnik kicked three field goals.

40 years ago (1972)

In business not on the calendar, the Brainerd city council voted 4-3 to again place the issue of Sunday liquor on the November ballot. Attorney John Holden made the proposal on behalf of several Brainerd businessmen.

60 years ago (1952)

Mr. and Mrs. George Wing, of the Brainerd Dispatch, were feted at a dinner at the Hoffman House by Dispatch management and staff. Mr. Wing is retiring after a career of 50 years, with the last 10 as editor of the Dispatch. Mrs. Wing retires as head of classified advertising.

80 years ago (1932)

100 years ago (1912)

George Sargent’s cow strayed away the other day and he inserted a “lost” ad in the Dispatch. That evening the faithful bovine showed up calmly chewing a copy of the paper, giving evidence she had absorbed the information it cost George one cent a word to insert.

Just curious as to why Keith Hansen's opinion piece from Tue's paper did not make it online?? I cant even find it in the archive's.

Tuesday letters to editor never on line either

A few Cass County people logged in their problems with a candidate and those letters never made it on line.
