20 years ago (1992)

Tim Kidder has run from anonymity to daylight for the Warrior cross country team. In his first year as a varsity runner he placed 8th at conference and 10th at section meets, failing to reach state. This year he’s already won two meets and finished second at another.

30 years ago (1982)

60 years ago (1952)

Twenty-one cases of polio have been recorded in Crow Wing County since Jan. 1. Of that number, two have died and several are still in treatment. Nationally, a record number of new cases were reported for the fifth straight week, with 1952 possibly to be a record year.

80 years ago (1932)

Memory of the late Dr. John Carper Rosser, pioneer Brainerd clergyman, will be perpetuated in the dedication of a large art glass window at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Dr. Rosser was active here when Brainerd was but a pioneer town.

100 years ago (1912)

Little Ethel Miller of Northeast has a pet crow which follows her about her home and is most companionable. When Ethel went to school, Mr. Crow followed, flying through the window and perching on her desk. He stole the teacher’s pencils and is most interested in education.
