20 years ago (1992)

Five individuals and one relay won titles to lead the Brainerd Warrior girls to a 53-40 win over Willmar in a CLC swim meet. Winners were: Marcia Park, Betsy Lykins, Renee Linn, Crystal Ludwig and the relay of Linn, Ludwig, Beth Hadland and Kari Erickson.

30 years ago (1982)

Another incident of vandalism has occurred at Brainerd-Crow Wing County Airport, according to John Riedl, manager. Friday night vandals tore up newly planted grass at the airport entrance, and a car parked there had its battery and spare tire stolen.

40 years ago (1972)

(Photo) During annual training at Camp Ripley, the Red Eye Missile Section of Headquarters of the 194th Cavalry completed a course in repelling. Team members are shown repelling out of a UH-B helicopter from a height of 120 feet.

60 years ago (1952)

(Photo) Mrs. Dorothy Benham (Mrs. Minnesota), daughter of Mrs. Alma Tuomi, Route 6, Brainerd, won third place in the Mrs. America Pageant finals at Asbury Park, N.J. Mrs. Benham is the wife of Archie Benham, Route 6, Brainerd.

80 years ago (1932)

The Dispatch office has been favored with many samples of fine fruits and vegetables, but about the most welcome and pleasing came today from Fred Kimble of S. 6th Street. A box of Everbearing Mastodon strawberries that were large, red and perfectly formed.

100 years ago (1912)

Pay day at the Barrows mine will see the distribution of about $6,000. There are about 65 men employed by the Virginia Mining Co. there. Work at Shaft No. 1 has been discontinued for a period, but Shaft No. 2 will soon be opened up.
