A thief, using a nylon stocking for a mask, held up the Tom Thumb Superette on S. 6th Street at 9 p.m. last night and made off with $300 in cash. He carried a .44 caliber magnum pistol and told the two female clerks, “Take it cool. This is a hold-up.”

The Brainerd Board of Education reaffirmed its policy on the use of school properties by anyone other than school groups. It specifically pointed out that Roosevelt Field is not to be used by people flying model planes or driving golf balls, as this damages the turf.
