Jack Graham has filed for county attorney, setting up a contest with Stephen Rathke, who was first elected in 1974 but had no opposition in 1978. Marianne Milloy filed for the post of county judge, opposing incumbent Darrel Sears and attorney Bob Kautz.

Larry Congdon won his third Hobby Stock feature race of the season at North Central Speedway and Russ Ebert captured his first top finish in the Late Model feature. Both drivers grabbed early leads and were not seriously challenged.

In the tennis tournament at Gregory Park over the past 2 weeks, Dick Miller topped Gary Mathison for the Grades 10-12 crown. In the finals of Grades 8-9, Jean Nutting defeated Deanna Presttun. Tim Templeton stopped Roger Moilanen 5-7, 10-8, 6-1 in Grade 7.

Capt. W. H. Fawcett of Breezy Point Lodge will represent the Minneapolis Shooting Assn. at the Grand American Handicap in Ohio. He will also attend the U.S. Olympic Trapshooting competition in Los Angeles. Fawcett won the world title at Paris in 1924.
