Determined not to let the Central 6 Conference baseball championship slip away, the Warriors put on a last-ditch rally in the 7th inning to nip St. Cloud Tech 7-6. Heroes of the “big game” were first baseman Len Hildebrandt and right fielder George Montgomery.

Heroic efforts of Chester Carlson, Deerwood, were hailed as having saved the life of his neighbor, Lloyd Bordwell, who was trapped up to his neck in sand after a well caved in on him. Carlson wedged his body in to prevent suffocation while 300 men dug Bordwell out.

On Sunday at 11:45 p.m., Jim Tempels and Steve Kurus, the two Greeks in charge of the American Pool Hall on Front Street, claim they were assaulted by 6 or 7 men. One had asked for peanuts and popcorn on credit and, when refused, the fight started.
