Warrior senior Kirk Hayes won his second Section 8AA wrestling title and Jake Jensen finished second to head to the state tournament. Hayes has a 23-2 record at 140-pounds. Jensen, 26-1, lost his first match of the season at 125 to another undefeated wrestler.

A second pilot plant to determine if manganese can be extracted from low grade ore on the Cuyuna Range is being constructed at Riverton. The U.S. imports 90 percent of its manganese (used to harden steel), with most of it coming from Russia.

The Brainerd Rifle Club scored its second victory over the Crosby Rifle Club here last night by the score of 1597 to 1550. NRA Assn. rules governed the shoot on a 50-foot range in the court room of the old court house at 5th and Kingwood Streets.

Nic Lauer, of the Iron Exchange Hotel, pleaded guilty in municipal court to having game out of season. He paid a $30 fine for the two partridge and one prairie chicken found at the hotel by Deputy Game Warden W. H. Onstine.
