A type of game that thrived years ago, when players wore pads and nose guards, and rough play was expected, was revived by the Bronko Nagurski team in a 25-23 overtime win over Russell Creamery. The locals were the moral victors over the pro visitors.

 

100 years ago (1911)

The Commercial Club is asking the federal government to include a set of locks in the dam now being built at the lower end of Gull Lake. This would allow launches to travel from the Mississippi to the lake and return, as they do now. Without a lock this will end.
