The sheriff's department responded to what they first believed to be a fight involving a weapon in the parking lot of the Blue Goose in Garrison. A gun was found in one of the vehicles, but was not involved. The men, on a fishing trip, were all inebriated.

Individual scoring leaders in District 24 basketball thus far in the season are Aitkin's Mark Erickson, scoring at a 20.5 per game pace, followed by Brainerd's Mickey Timmons and Larry Bunnell at 19.0 and 18.8 respectively.

Prosecution of persons driving through Gregory Park with cars or teams of horses was threatened by police today after destruction of park property. The bird house, presented to the board by the Brainerd Musical club was knocked down. Show respect for property.

Colonel Freeman Thorpe, noted artist living at Lake Hubert, is painting a portrait of Congressman James Tawney, to be hung in the room of the House Appropriations Committee in Washington. He will complete the picture there next month.
