Ruud leads Stevenson

Republican Carrie Ruud of Breezy Point, who previously served one term in the Minnesota Senate, held a lead late Tuesday night over DFLer Taylor Stevenson of Baxter, 6,885-5,427 or 55.8 percent to 44 percent.

Ruud is a former mayor of Breezy Point and a real estate agent. Stevenson, who ran unsuccessfully for the Senate against Republican Paul Gazelka in 2010, is a substitute teacher and coach in the Brainerd School District.
