Gazelka’s in box full
Sen. Paul Gazelka, R-Brainerd, took time out Saturday afternoon between balloting at Saturday’s Republican endorsing convention for the new Senate District 9 to show a reporter the flood of about 125 emails he had received that day, with most of them dealing with Monday’s expected vote on a stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.
Gazelka said he had not yet decided how he would vote and noted that if the measure dies in the House it may not come up for a vote in the Senate. He speculated that the stadium bill was hurt by Gov. Mark Dayton’s veto of a GOP tax bill,
Gazelka also urged delegates not to forget all of the hard work done by Rep. Mike LeMieur, R-Little Falls, who decided not to run for re-election to the Legislature this year.
Teacher vs. pupil
Newly endorsed Republican candidate Ron Kresha said his DFL opponent this fall, Pierz City Council member Adrian Welle is a former student of his.
