Pine River man injured in 2-vehicle crash Monday
PINE RIVER — A 30-year-old Pine River man was injured after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at 8:11 p.m. Monday on Crow Wing County 1 near Pine River, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, Jason Nilsson, was taken to Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd where he was treated and then released. The other driver, Joesph Goerges of Pine River was not injured.
Rural Brainerd man hurt after thrown from snowmobile
A 42-year-old rural Brainerd man was injured Monday after the snowmobile he was driving struck a snowmobile trailer ramp and then throwing him off the snowmobile, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, Randy Soderman, was treated at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd where he was later released.
It was reported that Soderman was driving the snowmobile in his yard at 9417 Five Mile Rd., warming it up. Soderman, who was not wearing a helmet, estimated his speed to be around 30 MPH. It was reported that the snowmobile trailer ramp was covered by snow lying on the driveway. Soderman was thrown about 10-feet away from the snowmobile. and it stopped approximately 75-feet from the point of the crash.
Melanie Soderman, who witnessed the crash from inside of the house, stated the snowmobile rolled over twice but Randy Soderman was not on the snowmobile when it rolled.
The crash was reported at 1:50 p.m.
