St. Paul principal disciplined for dating staffer
ST. PAUL -- A St. Paul school principal lost one day’s pay earlier this year for dating a staff member under his direct supervision.
Expo Elementary Principal Darren Yerama also has displayed a pattern of unwelcome flirting with female staff, according to a January discipline letter signed by assistant superintendent Efe Agbamu.
St. Paul Public Schools released the letter Wednesday in response to a Pioneer Press records request.
According to the letter, a district investigator interviewed Yerama last November about his spring 2014 relationship with a female staff member he supervised.
It says he “acknowledged that behavior of this type is inappropriate for a principal.”
The district considered the relationship a violation of its harassment policy.
