FIRE VICTIM — A 28-year-old Staples woman, who was injured after by an exploding gas can after she put gas on a fire April 17 at her home on the 28000 block of Highway 10 just east of Staples, was in satisfactory condition Tuesday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Whitney Pipkin was transported by ambulance to Lakewood Health Systems in Staples and then transferred to the Minneapolis hospital. Staples police assisted Todd County’s Sheriff’s Office with the incident.
ARREST — A 39-year-old man was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Friday for interfering with an emergency call, domestic assault and reckless driving after a report from a woman who stated she was being held against her will in a van near Staples.
BURGLARY — A report at 2:47 p.m. Sunday of a burglary and assault on the 100 block of Fourth Street Northeast.

ANIMAL — A report at 10:27 p.m. Monday that complainant believes there is a rabid raccoon stuck in her window well in Pequot Lakes.
STUCK — A report at 6 p.m. Sunday of a male stuck in an elevator at Excelsior Place Catered Living, 14211 Firewood Dr. Brainerd Fire arrived and was able to get the door open. The male didn’t require medical attention.
DISTURBANCE — A report at 2:47 p.m. Sunday that a male is throwing tables and is not suppose to be at a residence on Forest Drive.
FRAUD — A report at 6:20 p.m. Friday of merchandise purchased off a credit card and picked up at Best Buy, 14555 Edgewood Dr.
THEFT — A report at 11:09 a.m. Monday of a theft of a jacket and that many items over recent weeks went missing on the 400 block of South Ninth Street.
ARRESTS — A 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at 8:29 a.m. Monday on the 2400 block of Kay Lane. The man was arrested for felony domestic assault by strangulation and the woman was arrested for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and third-degree assault to cause substantial injury.
