Man drives into house, suffers cuts after altercation with home resident
BROWERVILLE — It wasn’t the crash that caused injuries to a driver after a Dec. 26 incident in Browerville.
Instead it was the altercation with the owner of the home the driver crashed into, which led to the driver’s head injuries.
A Todd County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a report of a suspicious person and disturbance at 9:08 p.m. Dec. 26 at 124 Seventh St. W in Browerville. The deputy found a GMC Suburban slid off the road and struck a house where the disturbance started. A rural Browerville male was found at David Gilpin’s residence. The driver suffered two lacerations to his head during the altercation with Gilpin after he drove into Gilpin’s house.
The driver was transported by ambulance to the Long Prairie Hospital, where he was treated and released and then arrested for DWI.
The house was severely damaged in the crash. The Suburban received moderate damage. Charges are pending against the driver, the Todd County Sheriff’s office reported.
