Level 3 offender moving to Aitkin County
AITKIN — A community notification meeting concerning Level 3 predatory offender Jerry Lee Ferrier will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Aitkin County Courthouse in Aitkin.
The predatory offender, Jerry Lee Ferrier, will be released from prison and moving Dec. 20 to an address on the 38900 block of Highway 47 in rural Aitkin, the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Department reported.
According to state court records, Ferrier was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1993 in Wadena County and of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in 2000 in Crow Wing County.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections reported Ferrier has a history of sexual contact with female victims ages 9-11. Ferrier was known to his victims, the sheriff’s department reported.
Ferrier is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 184 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
The Aitkin Sheriff’s Department states Ferrier is not wanted by police and has served the sentence imposed by the court. The notification meeting is not being held to increase fear in the community but to better inform the public about the offender.
The community notification meeting will be held in Courtroom No. 1 at the Aitkin County Courthouse, 217 Second St. NW, Aitkin. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Corrections and the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Department will be available to provide information on public safety.
