ASSAULT — A report at 5:22 p.m. Saturday of an alleged assault that took place at the Northland Arboretum, 14250 Conservation Dr. Baxter Police Chief Jim Exsted said that a portion of the arb was rented out for an event and an individual showed up, who wasn’t welcome. Exsted said that there was a disagreement in the lobby between several people about whether the event was public or private. Exsted said a male became angry at a female because she was trying to videotape footage of the event. Exsted said there was a verbal exchange between them and pushing and shoving was involved.
Exsted said no arrests were made, but the incident is being investigated by Baxter police and the matter was referred to the city prosecutor’s office.
According to a Brainerd Dispatch news story earlier in the week the event had been described as a campaign appearance where Rep. Chip Cravaack. R-Minn., would be “meeting with voters.”
