ARRESTS ­— Jonathan D. Kurilla, 46, was arrested 9:13 a.m. Sunday for second-degree driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety and gross misdemeanor probation violation on Fir Street and Bluff Avenue. Kurilla, who was previously arrested after crashing an ultralight airplane June 20, 2009, into Gull Lake while intoxicated, was sentenced in June of 2010 to 240 days jail and placed on six years probation. Kurilla was found guilty by a jury to two counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm while having a blood alcohol concentration more than 0.08 percent; one count of operating an aircraft while under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.04 percent; and on one count of third-degree DWI.

Ronald D. Robinson, 34, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. Monday for third-degree assault and fifth-degree domestic assault on the 900 block of Sixth Avenue Northeast.

Charles E. Fairbanks, 29, was arrested at 9:57 a.m. Friday for first-degree burglary, fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct after a report of a male breaking into a residence on the 500 block of South Eighth Street and assaulting a male. Fairbanks also has an active felony warrant in Mille Lacs County for burglary.

Bryan Schumacher, 23, was arrested at 12:59 a.m. Saturday on South Seventh Street and Laurel Street for fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

CITED — A 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old male were cited at 1:51 a.m. Sunday for underage consumption and the male also was cited for fleeing a peace officer by means other than a motor vehicle on the 500 block of Southeast 12th Street.

A report at 1:04 a.m. Sunday of a disturbance involving several intoxicated teenagers. Officers cited several of them for underage consumption and a subject also was cited for under 21 drink and drive on the 900 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast.

BIKE VS. BUS — A report at 7:59 a.m. Monday that a fourth-grader riding a bicycle ran into the back of a bus on F Street and Fourth Avenue Northeast. Officer spoke with Reichert Bus Service and parents were notified and picked up their child.

Crow Wing sheriff

CLARIFICATION — A call that was reported in Wednesday’s police blotter in the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s media report regarding several minors consuming alcohol at the bar on 10067 Leisure Lane, Brainerd, was unfounded. According to the full incident report, a deputy checked the business after the report was made at 11:34 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, and found that everyone was of age and the deputy cleared.

ARREST — Gordon Johnson was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Sunday in Garrison after a report of a silver Ford truck peeling out of the parking lot. Male returned and is extremely intoxicated. Johnson was arrested for gross misdemeanor DWI and obstruction of the legal process and misdemeanor disorderly conduct/brawling or fighting.

DRIVING — A report at 2:57 p.m. Friday on Crystal Lake Road in Merrifield of a vehicle that keeps driving up and down the road and stopping making people pass them on the shoulder and video recording them as they do. Vehicle is holding up traffic on purpose.

PARTY — A report at 9:56 p.m. Saturday that a neighbor in Fort Ripley is having a wedding which is against county regulations.

FIRE — A report at 6:30 p.m. Friday of an uncontained fire in the gravel pit in Emily. Emily Fire Department responded.

Staples police

PURSUIT — Police attempted a traffic stop at 1:35 a.m. Sunday for a vehicle speeding at 114 mph in a 55 mph area on Warner Road. The vehicle failed to stop for police when signaled and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle nearly struck another vehicle near Tradesman Road going into the ditch striking a stop sign. The male driver fled the scene into nearby woods and was not located. Police are currently investigating. Assisting on the scene was the Todd County Sheriffs Office and Motley Police Department.

SUSPICIOUS — A report at 4:29 a.m. that a person was sleeping in the entryway of City Hall, 122 Sixth Street N.E.
