Staples police

ARREST — Shanell Dee Pipkin was arrested at 1:10 p.m. Saturday for domestic assault with a weapon charges. Additional charges of felony damage to property, assault of a police officer and fleeing on foot were added after Pipkin kicked out a squad car window and damaged the door, ran on foot, and kicked an officer. Pipkin was transported to the Todd County Jail. Pipkin was arrested after the victim called and said she had been stabbed with a screwdriver, punched and kicked.

ANIMAL — A report at 7:28 p.m. Thursday of officers responding to a complaint of two juvenile raccoons walking near the 400 block of Second Street Southwest. The police attempted to herd the raccoons out of town.

PROPERTY DAMAGE — A father made a report at 4:58 p.m. July 9 that his son had damaged some windows on the old city hall building, 611 Iowa Ave. Police arrived and found around 12 broken windows.

Brainerd police

ARRESTS —Adam Bush, 31, was arrested at 8:51 a.m. Saturday for felony domestic assault after a disturbance was reported on the 700 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast.

David Murray, 25, was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Saturday on Southeast 19th Street and Pine Street for third-degree driving while impaired (DWI) and fleeing on foot.

Gary Balsimo, 26, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. Saturday on Southeast 28th Street for fifth-degree sale of marijuana, fifth-degree possession of marijuana, third-degree test refusal, fourth-degree DWI and possession of drug paraphanalia.

Cody Groshong was arrested at 1:26 a.m. Friday on the 1400 block of Norwood Street after a report of a fight and a female crying outside a residence. Groshong was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault, fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance in a school zone, fifth-degree sexual conduct, gross misdeamnor of furnishing alcohol, posession of drug paraphanalia and disorderly conduct. A 15-year-old female, a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old male were cited for minor consumptions.
