Man at large captured in Anoka County

Posted: May 23, 2012 - 10:35am

The man suspected of beating his ex-girlfriend and leaving her in Little Falls Thursday was captured in Anoka County, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s Minnesota Crime Alert Network reported late Tuesday.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a request Thursday from the Pope County Sheriff’s Office asking that deputies check Highway 10 near Little Falls for a woman who had been abducted earlier in the day from Pope County. At approximately 7:40 p.m. a Morrison County deputy located the woman and her vehicle south of the Fourth Street overpass on Highway 10. The woman appeared to have been severely beaten and stated her ex-boyfriend, 39-year-old Dennis Wayne Aasen of Mounds View, had abducted her and left walking southbound after their vehicle broke down.

Officers from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Little Falls Police Department, Pierz Police Department, Royalton Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and Baxter Police Department took part in the search.
