Former Long Prairie Chamber director arrested
LONG PRAIRIE — Former Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce director Kimberley Burkett was charged Thursday in Todd County District Court on felony charges in connection with allegedly misusing chamber funds from mid-2011 to April of 2012.
Burkett, 33, Browerville, was charged with a felony theft and a felony theft by swindle. Burkett was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Todd County Sheriff’s Office and the Long Prairie Police Department. Authorities made the arrest after Burkett’s bank records allegedly indicated misuse of the funds belonging to the chamber.
No further details were released Thursday as the investigation is ongoing.
