Two seriously injured in crash south of McGregor
A driver and his passenger were seriously injured when their vehicle vaulted off a field approach and struck trees before coming to rest.
The crash was reported at 3:20 a.m. Saturday on Highway 65, two miles south of McGregor, the State Patrol reported.
The 1987 Olds Cutlass was heading south, when the State Patrol reported it lost control and entered the northbound ditch sideways before striking the field approach.
Both occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol reported.
The driver, Justin Kafer, 33, McGregor, and his passenger, Helen Hallstrom, 32, Brook Park,
The State Patrol reported alcohol was detected in Kafer’s system. He was not wearing a seat belt. Kafer was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
Hallstrom was wearing a seat belt. She was taken to Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin.
The Aitkin Police Department also assisted at the scene.
