Police: Pest control worker interrupts assault
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A pest control worker is credited with interrupting a violent domestic assault in St. Paul and summoning police.
A criminal complaint says the worker knocked on a door Tuesday afternoon and found a crying woman holding a 7-month-old baby. Ernest Kidwell tells WCCO-TV (http://cbsloc.al/xFMxcT) he spotted blood on the face of a man who was in the kitchen. The man, Tin Kyaw, told Kidwell everything was fine. As Kidwell walked to the door he heard the woman quietly say "help me." Kidwell says he left the house and called 911.
The complaint says the 54-year-old Kyaw is accused of punching and strangling the woman and of stepping on the baby's head because the woman wouldn't drink with him.
The woman and child were taken to a shelter. Kyaw was taken to jail.
