Court date set for man charged with sexually abusing boys decades ago
Thomas Richard Erickson, accused of sexually abusing young boys over the past several decades at his Nisswa home, appeared Wednesday in Court Room 5 in front of Judge Erik Askegaard in Crow Wing County District Court.
Askegaard set Erickson’s next contested omnibus hearing to be at 2:30 p.m. April 3.
Erickson, who made bail, was charged Aug. 26 with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Investigators interviewed the four victims, who are now adults, who reported that Erickson sexually assaulted them when they were young and were staying at his house. The ages of the victims at the time of the assaults ranged from 6-14 years old. Police believe there may be more victims, as Erickson estimated he had sexual contact with about 10 boys altogether and that he was sexually attracted to children.
