Extension offers workshop to become RentWise trainer

Interested in teaching individuals and groups about being a successful renter?

The RentWise Train-the-Trainer Workshop will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at the University of Minnesota Brainerd Extension Regional Office, 322 Laurel St., in the Land Services Building, lower level meeting room.

Those interested in becoming a RentWise trainer who attend the RentWise Train-the-Trainer Workshop will gain an overview of the RentWise curriculum, including program goals, target audience, theories and research.

Participants will explore all three RentWise units and will learn what is needed to become a trainer and facilitate the RentWise program for others, including how to use the facilitator's manual, workbook, participant folder, handouts and supplemental materials.

Cost is $150 for the first person, and $50 for each additional person with an organization. This includes the workshop training and access to the online educational package and materials. Lunch is included. One person from each organization should register for all attendees, Extension stated.

For more information and to register, go to z.umn.edu/rentwise or contact Lori Hendrickson, Extension educator with the Family Resiliency Team at 218-327-5958, extension 3007, or email lhend@umn.edu.
