Crow Wing County Community Services adds screener, computers to lobby
In an effort to streamline services and allow improved access for customers, Crow Wing County Community Services has added a screener in the intake division and placed two computers and printers in the first floor lobby.
The screener will meet with new customers, assess their needs and offer them resources — both internal and external — to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency. This person will continue to offer assistance and consultation for several months after the initial intake.
“We believe the addition of a screener to the intake unit will allow us to provide front-end, preventative services to our customers,” said Sheila Skogen, Customer Services Division manager in a news release. “We can help connect families to those resources that will most assist them.”
In addition, two computers and printers have been placed in the first floor lobby. Customers may submit email questions regarding their case and receive a response back within 24 hours. Also, customers can apply for programs online including cash, food and health care assistance.
“We have added the computers and printers to assist customers in applying for benefits and securing needed verifications,” Skogen said. “We will continue to look for ways to enhance the customer service we provide to the public.”
The lobby is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The customer service desk opens at 8 a.m. Community Services is located at 204 Laurel St. in Brainerd.
