HART adoption promotion a succwess
A line started forming an hour before the doors opened at Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART).
The $25 for a kitten promotion on Saturday brought in the highest adoption day yet, said Donna Wambeke, HART executive director.
Staff even had to bring out the older cats once all of the kittens were adopted at about 11:45 a.m. A total of 43 felines found a new home.
“It’s heartwarming to see how the community stepped up,” Wambeke said. “Whenever HART needs something, the community is very supportive.”
Although the shelter is just about out of cats right now, there will be a couple dozen by the weekend, she said.
“It’s a really good thing to get these 43 out, but we have 43 more waiting to get in the room,” Wambeke said. “We’ve been bombarded by litters of kittens.”
