BAXTER — Monarch butterflies will be the program topic of the Wild Ones annual meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Northland Arboretum in Baxter.
Coralee Fox, a master gardener, will make the presentation on the state butterfly of Minnesota. Fox will discuss why monarchs’ migration is in danger and what people can do to help.
Fox has served on the board of the Brainerd Chapter of the Wild Ones since its inception four6 years ago. She has created native plant gardens into her landscape that enhance her home and naturally attract monarchs and other pollinators.
The presentation will be preceded by an appetizer potluck meal that begins at 5 p.m. Interested persons may bring a dish to share and join members and friends for an opportunity to share your favorite native plant story or obtain help with plant identification.
The fee to attend the meeting is $3 for non-members and free for members.
