Senate candidate Dahlberg to speak at Culver’s
BAXTER — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chris Dahlberg, who announced his candidacy to run against Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., in late September, will bring his message to the Brainerd lakes area on Saturday. He is inviting citizens to stop by for coffee and share concerns with him from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Culver’s in Baxter, located at 15222 Dellwood Drive.
Dahlberg, who retired Oct. 1 from the Army Reserve after 25 years of service, cited his 2012 reelection in Minnesota’s Democratic stronghold, northeastern Minnesota, when he received 60 percent of the votes and was endorsed by both the Duluth Building & Trades Council and the Teamsters Joint Council 32 DRIVE. He will seek the Republican Party endorsement at the May 2014 state convention.
He is currently chair of the St. Louis County Board, having first been elected to the board in 2008 and re-elected in 2012.
He is an attorney with Dahlberg Law Office, P.A., in Duluth. He received his J.D. law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School; his M.A. Public Policy from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute; and his B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
An Iraq War Veteran who was mobilized to Baghdad, Iraq in 2004-2005, he lives with his 9-year-old daughter, Maija, in Duluth’s historic Morgan Park.
