This past week Homecoming Week was celebrated at Woodland Good Samaritan Society in Brainerd.
Starting off Monday with a Chili Cook Off, residents and staff also took part in the week’s festivities dressing up each day. Monday was Hat Day, Tuesday was Country Western Day and Wednesday was Favorite Sports Team Day.
The highlight of the week was our big Homecoming Celebration at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Gary Johnson and Nancy Franzen were crowned King and Queen. They were both nominated for “Touching Lives and Lifting Spirits.” Both have been long time residents at Woodland and involved in many activities and volunteer work over the years. The King and Queen were honored over cake, ice cream and punch at Wednesday’s celebration. Many assisted living residents and staff were in attendance.
