The Brainerd Lakes Area Women’s Fund has tickets available for the presentation of its Women Making Waves Award from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Norway Center at Grand View Lodge.
Pam O’Rourke of Brainerd is the 2013 award winner. A legal expert in the retirement industry, she was chosen for her track record of leadership and her efforts and involvement in the nonprofit sector.
Proceeds from the event, which will feature a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres, will go to four nonprofits: Presenting Yourself, Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build, New Pathways and Bridges Workplace Connection.
The Women’s Fund at the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation is committed to creating and supporting programs that empower and enrich the lives of women and girls.
Previous winners of the Women Making Waves Award were Sue Hadland and Cheryl Gelbmann.
