BAXTER — Plans for McDermott Professional Center with a dental clinic on Falcon Drive were approved Tuesday at the Baxter City Council session.
Plans were approved contingent upon adding a 6-inch fire line and moving a waterline on the as yet undeveloped Falcon Drive.
In September, council consensus was to construct 260 feet of Falcon Drive in the spring of 2014. The McDermott Professional Center is planned at Isle and Falcon drives. The construction of the new office building would involve a temporary access constructed on Falcon Drive. Once Falcon Drive is extended next summer, the temporary access will be moved farther north.
In other business, the council:
Approved adding spending for two park pavilions to the 2014 capital parks fund budget. A 40-foot-by-40-foot pavilion with kitchen facilities is planned at the Whipple Beach recreation area at an expected cost of $165,000. The council also approved a 26-foot-by-26-foot pavilion without a kitchen at Berrywood Park off College Road at an estimated cost of $45,000.
Set a public hearing for the certification of delinquent utility bills and nuisance abatements at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 19 at city hall.
Met in closed session regarding a street vacation and non-user utility fee litigation. Once back in full session the council followed the process it has for several weeks, announcing settlements for specific addresses.
