Ruud Attends Women in Government Conference
Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, recently traveled to Oklahoma City for the 20th Annual Women in Government, Midwestern Regional Conference. At the conference Ruud was appointed as the Women in Government regional director for Minnesota.
This year’s annual meeting brought together women state legislators from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Women state legislators throughout the Midwestern region discussed cutting-edge public policy issues including diabetes, women’s health, energy, the environment, education, and economic development.
“This trip was a great opportunity to meet with other leaders from around the Midwest and discuss the public policy challenges facing our states,” said Ruud.
The conference centered around a number of policy presentations from professionals within their field. The presentation topics included, Improving Quality Healthcare, Potential Dangers of Compounding Medications, Diabetes Education & Chronic Disease, Comprehensive Treatment of Obesity, Medical Innovations, Going Green, Environmental Issues & Medicines: Prevention & Disposal and 3D Mammography.
